Southern Miyagi, located south of Sendai, facing the Sea of Japan, is a region where fresh, high-quality seafood is harvested, such the delicacy "akagai" blood clams. There is a river flowing from a tall mountain range to the west, which brings nutrients that create fertile soil to grow rich produce.
